COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT CASE STUDY:
A TURN-KEY PUBLIC/PRIVATE CITY HALL AND
REVITALIZATION OF DOWNTOWN
Sares Regis won the opportunity to structure a unique public/private
partnership with the City of Hayward to develop their new
$30 million, 136,000 s.f. City Hall in 1998. From its inception, this
project was completed in less than 18 months. Sares Regis and the
City jointly selected the consultants and contractors. We contracted
with the consultants and contractors to deliver this state-of-the-art
project on time and on budget. The project has a sophisticated
seismic design that includes base isolation. Consideration was also
given to green building practices in the use of recycled materials and
efficient mechanical and electrical systems. In addition to the City
Hall and its Subterranean Parking which was completed in 1997,
Sares Regis completed a 300-Car Parking Structure and a 12,000 s.f.
Retail Space adjacent to the City Hall the following year.
